Brides Today, a wedding magazine for brides in India, has drawn backlash after it featured a "trans-feminine" person on its cover.
Trans poet, comedian and activist Alok Vaid-Menon, who goes by "ALOK," is shown in several cover photos wearing womens' wedding apparel from jewelry to a head covering and a dress for its digital magazine.
Brides Today shared the photos on Instagram, where they received widespread criticism from users saying the photos were disrespectful to women.
The photos also went viral with over three million views after being shared by the account "End Wokeness" on Twitter.
"The woke pandemic has reached India," the account tweeted. Several Twitter users responded in disbelief, asking if the photos were fake and posting vomiting emojis.
Some critics highlighted a since-deleted controversial Facebook post from 2016 where the activist allegedly said in response to bans on transgender women using girls' restrooms, "Little girls are also kinky. Your kids aren't as straight and narrow as you think."
In the accompanying Brides Today interview, the activist complained about being bullied, the need to affirm transgender identities, and India's ban on same-sex marriage. Vaid-Menon slammed the "continued discrimination" against the trans community.
"The reason LGBTQI+ people are hunted is because we have the audacity to embrace authenticity and autonomy in a world that prescribes conformity. People take their own insecurities and project them at us. If they were secure in themselves, they wouldn’t seek to deny and disappear us. In other words: the continued discrimination against our community is an indication of the mental health struggle of our non-LGBTQI peers. What’s needed then is the promotion of positive mental health for all. What’s needed is the creation of a culture tied together with love, not shame," Vaid-Menon said.
While the activist does not have the same name recognition as other trans activists like Dylan Mulvaney, Vaid-Menon was still the subject of friendly interviews with the New York Times in 2021 and The Washington Post last July.
Fox News Digital reached out to Brides Today and Alok Vaid-Menon for comment on the backlash, but did not hear back by the time of publication.

Swedish doctors at a top medical school released a systemic review of available medical literature on providing puberty blockers to children, and said its use for treating gender dysphoria should be considered "experimental."
Doctors at the Karolinska Institute, ranked as a top 15 medical school in Europe, published an article in Acta Paediatrica on April 17, which was partly funded by an independent Swedish governmental agency tasked with assessing methods used in healthcare and making recommendations. The review analyzed thousands of studies, and focused on those without significant bias.
The doctors – among them an adviser to Sweden's medical board – concluded, "GnRHa treatment in children with gender dysphoria should be considered experimental treatment of individual cases rather than standard procedure." Puberty blockers, or gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogues (GnRHa), is a class of drugs which suppresses sex hormones by continually stimulating the pituitary gland.
The Karolinska Institute's systemic analysis, also led to a conclusion that GnRH analogues were found to delay bone maturation and mineral deposits, which may be only be partially restored by age 22 with cross-sex hormones. But they noted research was limited on that as well.
Doctors in Sweden have increasingly raised concerns about the safety of puberty blockers.
Ricard Nergårdh, a pediatric endocrinologist and researcher affiliated with the Karolinska Institute, told Swedish TV's Mission Investigate in 2021 that physicians try not to keep children on blockers for too long in order to minimize the risks of GnRH, which is also used to facilitate medical castration for some prostate cancers.
"What we call GnRH treatment is chemical castration. And it can affect mental health in an unintended, undesirable way. So it's very important that the patient and the patient's family are informed about this," he said.
"I'm very worried about it, and I think I'm not alone in that," he said about his concerns of GnRH for children.
Mission Investigate reported that a Swedish transgender boy named "Leo," who was taking puberty blockers for over four years, developed osteopenia, a condition where an individual lacks bone density, which can progress to osteoporosis and lead to bone fractures if not treated.
And at 15 years old he cannot stand longer than 15 minutes, he lives in constant pain and has a series of issues with his spine.
"My son shouldn’t be this way at his age," his mother said. "He should not have to live with this."
The Karolinska University Hospital filled out a report on what happened to Leo, and followed up with findings that other children may have been exposed to serious medical injury.
The hospital then stopped providing blockers to children with gender dysphoria as a standard of practice.
The media attention led the Swedish government to begin commissioning inquiries to reassess its health recommendations. In 2022, its medical board released guidance to change its earlier policies from 2015 to a more restrictive practice of prescribing blockers and hormones to children.
"[I]t is not yet possible to draw any definite conclusions about the effect and safety of the treatments based on scientific evidence," the board said."[T]he risks of puberty-inhibiting and gender-affirming hormone treatment for those under 18 currently outweigh the possible benefits for the group as a whole."
The guidance change was also made due to "the new knowledge that detransition occurs among young adults and the… unexplained increase in the number of care seekers, an increase particularly large among adolescents registered as females at birth."
Despite the limited research on the subject of prescribing puberty blockers to treat gender dysphoria, providers in the United States commonly refer to the drugs as "completely reversible," and stress its overall safety.
Doctors at Department of Defense military bases, for example, recently criticized the idea of "watchful waiting" on minor with gender dysphoria before referring them for hormonal treatments, calling it "conversion therapy."
"These are temporary medicines," said Boston Children's Hospital about GnRH. "[T]hey do not cause any permanent changes."
"It's like hitting the pause button," wrote St. Louis Children's Hospital. The institution went on to exemplify how GnRH is safe by stating the FDA approved it for children with precocious puberty, a physical condition in which kids, including those who can be as young as 5, begin to manifest adolescent development. This condition can be managed with GnRH in order to delay their puberty to a later, and more appropriate, timeframe.
However, what was not explicitly mentioned, is the drug is used off-label in treatment for gender dysphoria. Off-label is the practice of prescribing a drug for a different purpose than what the FDA approved.
Last year, the FDA identified six cases of children taking GnRH agonists, which presented "a plausible association" to causing increased pressure around the brain which can eventually lead the organ to swell.
Proponents of blockers further argue that stopping the natural biological process can lead to better outcomes for transgender kids, since it provides families with time to consider their options, and for a child to further explore their identity before progressing to permanent drugs such as cross-sex hormones and surgeries.
However, the researchers at Karolinska could not determine the psychosocial benefit of the drugs as treatment for dysphoria based on the current scientific evidence available.
This position was similarly echoed by Dr. Nergårdh, who said, "The scientific support for the effects of the treatments and the risks of the treatment is relatively weak."
The doctors who conducted the government-funded study, concluded, "Evidence to assess the effects of hormone treatment on the above fields in children with gender dysphoria are insufficient."
About gender medical interventions for minors, Dr. Stanley Goldfarb of Do No Harm, told Fox News Digital, "The point here is that for a treatment that immutably changes these children’s lives, It is unconscionable to push these treatments without a clear understanding of the long-term consequences. What we are hearing from European countries, including the latest of Belgium, is that the long-term effects do not accrue to the benefit of these children."

Joshua Grice, 30, was convicted of first-degree rape and first-degree burglary-home invasion for the Nov. 29, 2021, incident. Grice faces a mandatory minimum of 25 years in prison and the potential of a life sentence. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for September.
The 9-year-old girl was sleeping in her bed at a home in Takoma Park, Maryland when she woke up to a man wearing all black clothing, a black hat and a black face mask sitting on top of her.
He sexually assaulted the girl before running into the living room area and leaving through an open window, according to Fox 5 DC.
The victim alerted her sister, also a minor, who was asleep in an adjacent bed. The girl's sister went into the living room area and spotted the suspect standing outside the open window and looking into the apartment.
After the suspect noticed the victim's sister, he ran from the area. Police then responded to the scene and set up a perimeter but did not find the suspect.
In May 2022, the Montgomery County Crime Lab matched a DNA sample from the victim's underwear to Grice.
"This violent offender preyed on a young, innocent child," State’s Attorney John McCarthy said in a statement. "Due to the efforts of the Montgomery County Crime Lab, Montgomery County Police and our trial team, justice is being served. We also want to recognize the Tree House Child Advocacy Center for its impactful work in cases involving vulnerable victims."

Maybelline is facing calls for a boycott after a sponsorship with the transgender social-media influencer Dylan Mulvaney, who posted a short video last month of herself applying the brand's cosmetics and "getting glam."
The pushback comes as another major brand, Anheuser-Busch's Bud Light, is grappling with a boycott of its beer due to a similar partnership with Mulvaney.
The uproar comes as conservative lawmakers in some U.S. states pass laws that restrict the rights of transgender people, such as a new measure in North Dakota that restricts transgender health care in the state. Brands both big and small often partner with social media stars to promote their products in Instagram Reels or TikTok videos, often as a way to express support for inclusivity or reach specific groups like LGBTQ+ people or young women.
Mulvaney has become a lightning rod for anti-trans sentiment among some conservatives, with many targeting her brand sponsors as a way to express their anger over transgender rights.
"The latests fools to employ Dylan Mulvaney is make up company," one Twitter user wrote. "Get woke, go broke."
Maybelline and L'Oreal, its parent company, didn't immediately return a request for comment.
Another Twitter user wrote, "Time for #BoycottMaybelline to trend, since Maybelline used Dylan Mulvaney as their sponsor."
Mulvaney,
who has 1.8 million followers on Instagram, often features herself
promoting products from major brands, such as recent posts where she
sports Nike athletic wear and Kate Spade clothing. In the Maybelline
promotion, Mulvaney shows herself without makeup and then transformed by
eyeshadow, lipstick and more products.

The White House press corps was kicked out of the Oval Office by President Biden on Monday as he joked about spending another four years answering their questions.
Biden sat down with two members of the group called the "Tennessee Three," state Representatives Justin Jones and Justin Pearson, D-Tenn., to discuss their recent experience of being expelled from office after taking part in and leading a disruptive protest in the state capitol.
After condemning Republican state leaders for voting to expel Jones and Pearson, Biden told the press to leave as they began their conversation.
"I know they're gonna be really excited about it, but I'm gonna ask the press to leave," Biden said.
As the press was escorted out of the room, multiple reporters shouted questions regarding his plans to run again in 2024.
"Mr. President, why do you want four more years?" one reporter asked.
"So, I get to answer your questions," Biden joked.
Another reporter questioned, "Why should Americans give you four more years?"
"Stay tuned," Biden responded.
Though Biden joked about answering reporter questions, the president has often gone months without having a formal press conference. The New York Times recently reported that Biden has held only 54 press interviews throughout his first two years in office, the lowest number since President Reagan.
Biden also broke a common presidential practice by not holding a press conference during his trip to Ireland earlier this month.
While speaking with Jones and Pearson, Biden mentioned that he "was sorry" he couldn’t have met with them during Vice President Kamala Harris’ trip to their state. He also praised the state reps for "standing up" for the community and Democratic values by protesting for gun control.
"Look, what the Republican legislature did was shocking and undemocratic, and it was without any precedent. But you turned it around very quickly," Biden said.
He added, "But on so many issues, you've been out front and you understand exactly what it's like. It's just tragic that’s happening in your state, in particular in your city, but also across the country. And, you know, nothing is guaranteed about democracy. Every day, every generation has to fight for you all are doing just that."
Though Jones and Pearson were expelled from the house by Republican legislators, they were quickly reinstated days later. Democratic Rep. Gloria Johnson also took part in the protests but avoided expulsion by a single vote because she wasn't as disruptive as the others.
Biden is expected to announce his re-election campaign on Tuesday after repeatedly dodging the question when asked directly. Various media outlets and Democratic politicians have recently expressed doubts about Biden running for a second term due to his age.

Kendra Nance, a 31-year-old Chicago resident, got into a fight with her boyfriend at a gas station in Forest Park on Sunday.
Gas station customers ended up getting involved in the very public fight, some picking up their phones to record the ordeal. One customer reportedly threw something at the Ford Explorer Nance was in, angering her further.
Although her boyfriend tried to grab the keys out of the ignition to keep her from driving away, Nance still managed to begin erratically driving the car away, dragging her boyfriend, who was only halfway inside the vehicle, along the road.
The out-of-control woman smashed into a red SUV that was parked at the gas station. Shortly after pulling out onto the street, Nance crashed straight into another vehicle that was waiting at a stoplight.
The car Nance was driving flipped upside down and landed in the middle of the road. She then jumped out of the car and continued screaming at the people at the gas station who were continuing to record her.
Missing one of her shoes, Nance grabbed her purse out of the overturned vehicle and began to walk away.
Nance and her boyfriend were both arrested after the incident and were treated for injuries at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.
Miraculously, there were no other injuries from the crash.
Nance was charged with felony criminal damage to property, two counts of aggravated assault, reckless driving, reckless conduct, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, and having no valid driver’s license.
After appearing in court for a bond hearing on Tuesday, Nance’s bond was set at $200,000. She will appear in court on Wednesday for violating probation on a prior case and will appear on May 12 for this case.
Nance has three previous felonies, including aggravated battery to a police officer in 2021 and theft and robbery in 2020. She also has three misdemeanor charges, including several charges of battery from 2017, 2018, and 2021.

(If this was a black child... the protests would be huge............... but of course she is only white so it's OK.)
A 6-year-old girl and her parents were injured by gunfire on Tuesday night after a basketball rolled down a residential street in North Carolina and into a man’s yard, enraging him, neighbors told WSOC-TV.
Witnesses told the station that the gunman ran up and down the street, firing until he ran out of bullets.
The Gaston County Police Department said Wednesday they were still hunting for the alleged gunman, identified as Robert Louis Singletary, a 24-year-old man described as “armed and dangerous.”
The young girl, Kinsley White, was hospitalized after being seriously wounded. She was released overnight, family members told Queen City News. Her father, William White, remains in the hospital.
“He came out with a gun, he started shooting,” Kinsley explained to the outlet. “Hope my daddy is OK.”
Her mother, Ashley Hilderbrand, was grazed by a bullet and treated at the scene. She told WSOC that she heard the gunman make a threat to her husband and daughter: “I’m going to kill you.”
He then chased them, firing, while William White tried to shield Kinsley, Hilderbrand said.
A fourth person was shot at but not injured, police said.
Singletary faces multiple charges, including four counts of first-degree attempted murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.
In December, he was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend with what police described as a “mini sledgehammer.” He allegedly prevented her from leaving his apartment until she cleaned up the evidence of the assault. The woman was able to escape roughly two hours later.

another story
WSOC-TV in North Carolina reported that a 6-year-old child and her parents were shot Tuesday night.
24-year-old Robert Singletary, the man allegedly responsible for the shooting, was furious a basketball happened to roll into his yard while young children were playing.
Police say Singletary ran down the street and fired his gun at a neighbor. Singletary then allegedly returned and shot William White and his 6-year-old daughter Kinsley while they were running away.
Kinsley and her dad were seriously injured from the gunfire. The little girl was left with bullet fragments in her cheek while William remains in the hospital.
William heroically stood in the line of fire trying to protect his daughter and the rest of the children according WSOC-TV.
Kinsley’s mother, Ashley Hilderbrand, was grazed by a bullet but has since returned home.
Here is a recent picture of the White family.
Here is photo of Kinsley after being shot.
Police say the motive for the attack remains unknown.
Singletary was out on bond in a case involving him allegedly striking his girlfriend with a hammer.
WSOC-TV has more:
Kinsley, who has stitches from bullet fragments in her cheek, is in a position no child should be in. She’s worried about her father, who suffered the most serious injuries while he was trying to protect her. She spoke to Channel 9′s Ken Lemon while holding her grandfather’s hand, with sadness in her eyes and the daunting question on her mind.
“Why did you shoot my daddy and me? Why did you shoot a kid’s dad?” Kinsley asked.
Neighbors said Singletary was new to the area and often got angry with children in the neighborhood.
Kinsley’s mother told Lemon she was outside too, and said she heard Singletary make a threat.
“He looked at my husband and my daughter and told them, ‘I’m going to kill you,’” Ashley Hilderbrand said.
Hilderbrand said Singletary chased them while shooting, and Kinsley’s father tried to draw gunfire toward him and away from the children. He was shot in the back in his front yard.
sHilderbrand said Singletary kept shooting, missing repeatedly until he was out of bullets.
On Wednesday, Lemon was in the neighborhood as police performed a tactical search of Singletary’s home. They also went door to door in the community asking if neighbors had seen him.
Police said Singletary, 24, is still on the lam.
Authorities do not know if Singletary is on foot or in a vehicle. He’s described as 6 feet, 2 inches tall with brown eyes and black hair. He weighs about 223 pounds.
Gaston County police said in Tuesday’s incident, Singletary is charged with four counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, and possession of a firearm by a felon. More charges are likely because of the shots fired into neighbors’ homes.
Police said they have help from U.S. Marshals in the search for Singletary.
Neighbors told WSOC that Singletary was new to the area and often got angry with children in the neighborhood.
Citing the ongoing investigation, a spokesperson for the Gaston County Police Department declined to confirm details of the case.
“I want to say to the people of Gaston County—this sort of violence will not stand,” Stephen Zill, the department’s chief, said in a statement posted to social media on Wednesday afternoon.
Police have partnered with the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force to find Singletary, Zill said.
“We don’t even know the man,” Kinsley told WSOC, appearing on camera with stitches in her cheek. “Why did you shoot my daddy and me? Why did you shoot a kid’s dad?”
Gunman’s Grandson Says Ralph Yarl Shooting ‘Never Should Have Happened’
The incident occurred a day after a recent spate of high-profile shootings involving young victims. On Monday, a 25-year-old man in Texas was arrested for shooting at a group of four high school cheerleaders after one of them mistakenly tried to get into his car, thinking it was hers.
Over the weekend, Kaylin Gillis, a 20-year-old woman, was killed in upstate New York after the car she was in pulled up the wrong driveway while searching for a friend’s house. A 65-year-old man was charged with one count of second-degree murder.
And last Thursday, a teenage honors student named Ralph Yarl was shot twice by an 84-year-old man after accidentally ringing the doorbell of the wrong house while trying to pick his younger brothers up in a Missouri neighborhood. Yarl was discharged from the hospital this week.

(Low Life disgusting pieces of CRAP !!!)
100 Percent Fed Up reports – On Tuesday, a 26-year-old Home Depot worker named Blake Mohs was shot dead while attempting to stop a shoplifter in the lawless state of California, just east of San Francisco.
The suspects, 32-year-old Benicia Knapps and 31-year-old David Guillory, attempted to steal a phone charger from a Home Depot in Pleasanton, California. Knapps is a licensed security guard with a criminal history.
The couple appears to be dating, according to their Facebook profiles.
Mohs was working in the loss prevention center when he attempted to stop the in-store theft.
After noticing the attempted theft, Mohs confronted Knapps, who was “determined to exit without paying,” according to Pleasanton police Lt. Erik Silacci.
Knapps pulled out a handgun and fired at the Home Depot employee.
The suspect then fled with her two-year-old child, who was waiting in the car during the theft attempt.
Mohs was found bleeding inside the Home Depot and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he died from his injuries.
The brave Home Depot employee was a Boy Scout leader and was engaged to fiancée Kasey Silligman. They were set to be married on August 12 at the campsite where the couple met while volunteering with the Scouts.
The Pleasanton Police Department released a statement detailing their response to the shooting:
Pleasanton Police Department is actively investigating a shooting that occurred at approximately 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, inside a Home Depot store located at 6000 Johnson Drive.
Our dispatch center received calls about a man who was bleeding inside the store. Officers rendered aid to the victim, and he was immediately transported to a nearby hospital. Witnesses reported the victim attempted to stop a theft in progress, wherein a struggle ensued, and the man was shot. The suspects were seen immediately driving away from the scene after the shooting.
Allied agencies were notified of the description of the wanted vehicle. At approximately 2:30 p.m., deputies with the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle and successfully detained the suspects near the 7000 block of Ney Avenue in Oakland.
If you or anyone you know has information about this incident, please call Pleasanton Police Department at (925) 931-5100.
Law enforcement has since arrested both Knapps and Guillory on suspicion of murder, robbery, child endangerment, and conspiracy.
Guillory has been booked at Santa Rita jail and will be joined by Knapps after she receives treatment at a hospital.
Home Depot issued a statement about the tragic loss of life at its Pleasanton location, saying, “We’re heartbroken over this senseless tragedy. Blake was our associate and friend, and our hearts go out to his family and everyone who knew and loved him.”
The mayor of Pleasanton also issued a statement, saying, “I am devastated by the loss of Blake Mohs in yesterday’s senseless shooting.”
“Through his service to Tri-Valley organizations, Blake was a model for others. To have a life cut short is heartbreaking and infuriating,” he added.

Update
She said the gun went off by accident... REALLY?
How many dumb ass people would believe that?
.
The shooting unfolded Tuesday in Pleasanton, a suburb of San Francisco.
Authorities said Knapps left the store without paying for some items and was confronted by Mohs and another employee. A struggle ensued between Mohs and Knapps, who managed to wrestle the stolen items away.
Knapps allegedly got a gun from her purse.
Mohs and the other Home Depot employee ran back into the store and another struggle between him and Knapps occurred.
She shot him, hitting his chest, authorities said. Knapps retrieved a stolen item and fled in a waiting vehicle, police said. Her 2-year-old daughter was inside the car.
Knapps is a licensed security guard and has a criminal history involving theft, records show, the news outlet said. Guillory has a pending criminal case in Berkeley, where he is charged with stealing $1,300 in uniforms and jerseys from a soccer store.
CDC Director Rochelle Walensky admitted to Congress on Wednesday that vaccinated individuals can spread the COVID virus. This is after spreading vaccine disinformation for over two years now.
This is contrary to her earlier statements on the COVID vaccine. She attributed this change to “an evolution of science.”
In December 2021, Walensky warned that vaccine misinformation was one of the biggest public health threats. She didn’t mention at the time that she was a leading spreader of the propaganda.
Walensky also previously admitted she learned of the effectiveness of the vaccines by watching far-left TV.
They spread lies on top of lies.
Walsensky says it has to do with the COVID variants. They expect you to believe this garbage.
Dr. Rochelle Walensky: “That statement is no longer corrected with the Omicron variants we have right now.”
