A manhunt is currently underway for a man who threatened to
assassinate President Trump during his visit to the border in Arizona on
Thursday.
Ronald Lee Syrvud, 66, threatened to shoot Trump during his visit today. Arizona authorities say Syrvud is at large.
Syrvud is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, 220 pounds and wears glasses.
He has outstanding warrants from the state of Wisconsin for
DUI/failure to appear for DUI and from Graham County Arizona for hit/run
and felony failure to register as a sex offender.
President Trump is delivering remarks in Cochise County and will inspect the damage Kamala Harris has wrought on this country.
“Today, I am going to INSPECT THE SOUTHERN BORDER and to meet with
the Victims whose Loved Ones were attacked and murdered by Illegal
Aliens set free into America by Comrade Kamala Harris, the Radical Left
Democrat Presidential Candidate who didn’t receive one Vote and, in her

Arizona authorities have launched an urgent manhunt for a
suspect who allegedly threatened to shoot former President Donald Trump
during a trip to the border on Thursday.
Ronald Lee Syrvud, 66, is wanted in connection with an alleged
assassination plot planned for Trump’s visit to a vulnerable stretch of
the southern border in Cochise County, AZ.
It comes six weeks after an assassination attempt on Trump’s life saw
a bullet hit the former president’s ear during a rally in Butler,
Pennsylvania.
Police said Syrvud has several other warrants out for his arrest on
separate charges, including for a DUI and failure to appear in court in
Wisconsin, and for failure to register as a sex offender and felony hit
and run in Arizona.
Arizona officials said they believe Syrvud is at large in the border
region, and are urgently attempting to locate him ahead of Trump’s
visit.
Syrvud is described as six-feet-tall, 220 pounds, and wearing glasses. His last known address is listed as Benson, Arizona.
California Democrats Advance Bill to Allow Illegal Aliens to Buy Homes with Zero Down Payment and 0% Interest

Illegal aliens will get interest-free home mortgage loans under a new California bill.
Democrat assemblymember Joaquin Arambula (Fresno) recently introduced Assembly Bill 1840 to extend a first-time homebuyer loan program to illegal aliens.
If the bill becomes law, illegal aliens will be eligible for a new
program that offers a loan worth 20% of the purchase price of the
residential property. There are no monthly payments and no interest
accrues on the loan. Rather, the loan is paid back when the borrower
refinances or sells the property. The borrower will have to pay back the
original loan plus a 20% increase in the value of the property.
“It’s that ambiguity for undocumented individuals, despite the fact
that they’ve qualified under existing criteria, such as having a
qualified mortgage,” California Democrat Joaquin Arambula said in an
interview. “Underscores the pressing need for us to introduce
legislation.”
The legislation passed a key senate committee this week so California
is one step closer to giving illegal aliens interest free home loans
with zero down payment.

A key California Senate committee advanced a bill this
week that would allow migrants and illegal immigrants to use a program
aimed at helping widen the swath of the population who can become a
homebuyer.
The “Dream For All” shared-appreciation loan program is billed by the
state as a down-payment assistance program for first-time homebuyers.
When the qualified homeowner later sells or transfers the home, the
homebuyer repays the original loan’s down payment, as well as a share of
the residence’s value appreciation, according to the California Housing
Finance Agency (CALHFA).
In a 5-2 party-line vote, the Senate Appropriations Committee
approved the bill prohibiting an applicant for “Dream For All” from
being disqualified based on their immigration status.
While foreign-born individuals are able to purchase homes in the U.S.
by using an individual tax identification number in the absence of a
Social Security number, the bill is unique in that it helps offer the
benefits of homeownership to everyone, its author said.

Democrat Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar took the stage at the
Democratic National Convention (DNC) on Wednesday, delivering a speech
that seemed more fantasy than reality.
Salazar not only attacked former President Trump, blaming him for
Texas’s immigration crisis, but also heaped praise on Kamala Harris,
hailing her as “tough on the border.”
“When Donald Trump comes down to Texas and stands next to officers in
uniforms just like mine, he’s not there to help us. Don’t think
that—not for a second. He is a self-serving man. I mean, look, just like
when he killed the border bill, he just made our jobs harder.”
“Now, Kamala, on the other hand, has been fighting border crime for
years. She’s gone down to Mexico and worked to stop the traffickers.
When the traffickers didn’t stop, she put them in jail.”
“Now, down in my neck of the woods, we call that fooling around and
finding out. I may be paraphrasing a bit. We protect them. Now, the
border sheriffs that I know and I, we’re like Kamala. We protect and
serve. We enforce the law, we show compassion, and we fight like hell to
protect our border. Because as we’ve always known in Texas: When we
fight, we win.”

Kamala Harris just released an ad on the border. You read that right. Border Czar Kamala Harris – who has the weakest record on border security in American history – wants to talk about the border.
So let’s talk about it.
Because of President Donald Trump’s successful policies, our border
was secure and we had the lowest levels of illegal border crossings in a
generation. Enter Kamala Harris. In her words, “the [Harris-Biden] administration’s immigration policies largely involve undoing the previous one’s work.”
So what was the result of the Harris-Biden administration undoing President Trump’s policies? Under Kamala Harris:
9.9 million illegal immigrants have crossed the border.
Roughly 31 tons of fentanyl have crossed the southern border, enough
to kill roughly 14.1 billion people. Experts say only 5 to 10 percent
of the drugs crossing the border are being intercepted.
Fentanyl is now the leading cause of death for Americans age 18 to
45. There were 112,000 fatal drug overdoses in 2023, a new record high.
“Border Czar” Harris has only visited the border once as vice
president – traveling to a politically-friendly district rather than the
epicenter of the crisis – and that was years ago. President Trump went to witness the crisis firsthand just a few months ago, and has been numerous times during his administration and after.
And of course, Kamala’s ad was full of lies – starting with her
absurd insistence that she supports security measures like increasing
the number of Border Patrol agents. As reported by Fox News’s Bill Melugin, in 2018, Kamala Harris signed a letter that urged the Senate to “reject
President Trump’s FY 19 funding request for a costly and ineffective
border wall, new Border Patrol agents, and a large increase in U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) personnel and detention beds.”
What’s worse, Harris supports policies that would make the Harris-Biden border invasion even worse. As pointed out by the Team Trump Rapid Response Team, which has all the receipts:
Kamala said she wouldn’t “treat” illegal aliens as “criminals.”
Kamala backed free, taxpayer-funded health benefits for illegal aliens.
Kamala compared ICE agents to the KKK.
Kamala called for “starting [ICE] from scratch.”
Kamala expressed support for sanctuary cities.
Kamala argued temporarily closing the border violated federal law.
That’s her record, and a lie-filled ad won’t change that.
But Salazar’s attempt to rewrite history didn’t go unnoticed. A
resurfaced video from 2022 has quickly made its rounds online, revealing
a very different stance.
In an interview with MSNBC,
Salazar pleaded for Biden and Kamala to address the border crisis
directly, highlighting the devastating impact of their open-border
policies.
“Well, right now, what I’m asking for is for the President or a
member of his administration that can make decisions to come down and
talk to not just me, but at least 12 other Texas sheriffs from major
counties in the state of Texas that are dealing with this issue
firsthand,” Salazar stated in 2022.
“So I’d like to see somebody from Washington come down here, get
boots on the ground, get eyes on the issue at hand, and then talk to us,
a bipartisan group of Texas sheriffs that are really taking a
common-sense approach because we have to on this.”

He sent three letters to Biden asking to meet with him to address the humanitarian crisis at the southern border.
“Mr. President, we need your help. With all due respect, the
perception here, what I’ve seen in talking to other law enforcement
leaders in my precious state of Texas, is the perception is that there’s
been a complete absence from Washington, DC. Now, I know that you’ve
got a whole world to protect and serve. However, here down in Texas, we
need your help. We need you here to talk to us and see if we can be part
of the solution,” Salazar said.
Salazar is the same county sheriff who opened a criminal investigation into Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ operation sending illegal aliens to Martha’s Vineyard back in September 2022.
The Biden Regime has been flying and busing illegals all over the US in the dead of the night during a pandemic.
More than 50 illegals were found dead in a trailer in
San Antonio because of Joe Biden’s open border policies, but the real
crime is DeSantis sending a few dozen aliens to a sanctuary city that
proudly declared they welcome all migrants.
When DeSantis flies 50 illegals to a liberal haven, all hell breaks loose and it’s a criminal matter.
Salazar said the illegals were ‘lured’ to Martha’s Vineyard ‘under
false pretenses,’ and recommended criminal charges to the Bexar County
District Attorney. Sheriff Salazar recommended felony and misdemeanor
charges of unlawful restraint over the migrant flights to Martha’s
Vineyard, according to the Miami Herald.

Scott Jennings, the right leaning pundit at CNN, has quickly made a
name for himself by repeatedly introducing his network colleagues to
reality.
In one of his most recent viral moments, he called out his fellow
panelists during the DNC by reminding them who has been in charge at the
White House for 12 of the last 16 years.
How is everything Trump’s fault when he was only there for four of those 16 years?

speeches — as good as they were — [Kamala Harris] is in the White House
right now.
Democrats have controlled the White House for 12 of the last 16
years, and for all of the talk about division and the problems in the

country.
Trump had it four four, the Obamas and Biden had it for the rest of
the time, and somehow, it’s still all Trump’s fault, and somehow, she
hasn’t been at the center of it.
To me, that is the glaring hole in this campaign that hasn’t yet been
solved at the convention. How do you explain all of the problems that
will be solved by the person who is currently in there for the last 3.5
years and who is supposed to be already working on solving it?

Michelle Obama wore a nearly $3,000 pantsuit to the Democratic National Convention in Chicago while touting to attendees that her parents were "suspicious" of the wealthy.
The former first lady began
her DNC speech by saying the last time she was in her hometown of
Chicago was to memorialize her mother, the woman "who showed me the
meaning of hard work and humility and decency" and "who set my moral
compass high and showed me the power of my own voice."
"She and
my father didn't aspire to be wealthy. In fact, they were suspicious of
folks who took more than they needed," Michelle Obama said. "They
understood that it wasn't enough for their kids to thrive if everyone
else around us was drowning. So my mother volunteered at the local
school."
All the while, she was wearing a black pantsuit jacket that is available for pre-order online by the New York fashion designer Monse for $1,690.
The
online description invites customers to "pre-order our Resort 2025
Criss Cross Jacket as seen on Michelle Obama at the DNC." Michelle Obama paired the jacket with the matching trousers listed for $890.

The New York Times described Michelle
Obama's outfit, a sleeveless recreation of the traditional pantsuit, as
thematically "forward," in line with the former first lady's message at

The Times' Critics Notebook described Monse as a "small,
independent label founded by Fernando Garcia, a Dominican-raised New
York designer, and Laura Kim, an Asian American (and one of the founders
of the Slaysians, a group of fashion insiders formed to combat
anti-Asian hate)."
Garcia and Kim are also the designers of Oscar
de la Renta, "the brand that has dressed first ladies for decades and
which Mrs. Obama wore when she was living on Pennsylvania Avenue and
still does," the Times said.

The newspaper gushed over the former first lady, and her stylist, Meredith Koop, for choosing Monse.
The
Times said selecting "the smaller fashion house over the establishment
name was fully in line with Mrs. Obama’s practice, developed as first
lady, of using her platform to highlight lesser known businesses
(especially fashion businesses) and designers who represent the stories
she is telling: about entrepreneurship, the melting pot, the American
dream. The election."

Obama "wore a dark navy sleeveless jacket belted over cropped trousers.
The lapels of the top were de- and reconstructed to cross over the
throat in an almost militaristic way, and the shoulders jutted out to
frame the biceps. It was both understated and edgy, kind of armorial,"
the Times said. "This was going to be a fight, her tunic and her speech
suggested, and everyone should gear themselves up to get out the vote."
The Trump campaign
and others criticized Michelle Obama for omitting that she and her
husband, former President Obama, have an estimated net worth of $70
million, as well as luxury real estate holdings in Chicago, Hawaii,
Massachusetts and Washington, D.C., when telling the DNC that her
parents "were suspicious of folks who took more than they needed."
"Getting really tired of multi-millionaires preaching about the evils of money and greed," one X user wrote.

Chicago City Council Alderman Raymond Lopez has publicly denounced
his own party during a live interview, declaring that the Democratic
National Convention is failing to address the real issues facing
American citizens.
Lopez, who represents the 15th Ward of Chicago, did not hold back as
he criticized his party for its lack of focus on critical topics such as
public safety and immigration.
During an appearance on The Ingraham Angle, Lopez expressed his disillusionment with the Democratic Party’s direction.
Ingraham: Are Democrats winning any new voters at this convention?
Chicago City Council Alderman Raymond Lopez: I
highly doubt it. I think this is all playing to their own base, not
trying to recruit new people because, clearly, the Democratic Party—my
party—is not interested in talking about what matters. How are you going
to keep people safe? How are you going to secure the border? How are
you going to deal with the 8 million undocumented individuals that they
let in under Kamala Harris’s lead?

During the interview, Ingraham highlighted the alarming decrease in
law enforcement numbers in Chicago, a city that has been plagued by
escalating violence and crime. Lopez confirmed that Chicago is down
nearly 2,000 officers.
The Alderman didn’t stop at mere statistics; he painted a vivid
picture of a city grappling with chaos while its leaders engage in what
he termed “a beauty pageant of hypocrisy.”
Ingraham: A bunch of folks came up to
me. I went for a little exercise today, walking all around and out at
Navy Pier, and people who live in Chicago—they love this city, and they
are really mad, still mad. It’s not a political response; this is just a
common-sense desire for a better life. I’m not hearing any policies
about how to recruit. One of them said we were down, what, a thousand
law enforcement officers in Chicago, I believe. Is that the correct
number?
Raymond Lopez: Almost 2,000.
Ingraham: Almost 2,000? I’m off by… I’m like the
Bureau of Labor Statistics—I’m off by 100%. That’s a problem. Why aren’t
we discussing things like that?
Raymond Lopez: Because right now, we’re in this beauty pageant of hypocrisy.
Ingraham: A beauty pageant of hypocrisy?
Raymond Lopez: Yeah, because we say one thing and
we’re doing the exact opposite. You have the most American of American
cities, where we’re telling people to come here, feel welcome, enjoy our
beautiful city—and 100%, it’s a beautiful city. But yet we had to board
up every single store in the surrounding area to keep it safe from
looters and rioters that our mayor, Brandon Johnson, has welcomed here
and said, “Come and show us what your true colors are.” It’s really
pitiful.
Lopez also criticized the party’s handling of immigration,
particularly the lack of support for communities overwhelmed by the
influx of undocumented individuals. He pointed out the absurdity of the
situation: while asylum seekers receive government-funded rental
assistance and accommodations in hotels, everyday Chicagoans and even
the National Guard are left to fend for themselves.
When pressed by Ingraham on whether he would support Kamala Harris,
Lopez revealed his deep dissatisfaction with the party’s leadership.
Ingraham: Are you supporting Kamala Harris?
Raymond Lopez: I haven’t decided because, even when
Joe Biden was asking for the Democratic Party’s endorsement here, I was
the lone Democrat in Chicago to say, “I’m not going to just jump in and
endorse him,” because I’ve seen what the immigration situation has done
to neighborhoods like mine on the southwest side. We have got no
answers. We get no support, and there’s no plan for the future. That
really bothers me as we move forward.

Ingraham: A government-funded program in Chicago,
World Relief Chicagoland, provides up to $15,000 in rental assistance
for six months for asylum seekers. So the illegals are more of a
priority than the Chicago people. I saw a lot of people on drugs, a lot
of homeless, a lot of people—
Raymond Lopez: We have everyday Chicagoans
struggling to pay rent, getting no support. We even have our own
National Guard, who are here this week to protect us, sleeping in the
hallways of the police headquarters because we couldn’t put them in
hotels. But we have whole hotels dedicated to the undocumented asylum
seekers.
Lopez’s frustration was palpable, and his words resonated with many
who feel abandoned by the Democrat establishment. Ingraham noted that
everything Lopez was saying suggested he might support Donald Trump in
the upcoming election—a notion Lopez did not dismiss outright.
Ingraham: Alderman, everything you’re
saying to me indicates that you want to support Donald Trump. You want
to support him. I mean, come on…
Raymond Lopez: With nobody in the background, I want
to support a president that’s going to do right by our communities, do
right by our country. I’m tired of this anger-driven hysteria… I will
give Trump credit because he at least is putting himself out there with
proposals, with plans, and allowing questions, while all I’m getting
from others is “trust me when we get there.”

In a fiery rant, former NBA #1 overall pick Kwame Brown has taken a
stand against black celebrity ‘gatekeepers,’ accusing them of using race
as a weapon to pressure voters into supporting Kamala Harris.
Brown’s criticism is directed at influential figures like Rickey
Smiley, D.L. Hughley, and Steve Harvey, whom he claims are “shaming”
black voters into backing Harris simply because of her skin color.
“Kamala’s skin color ain’t gonna pay for our groceries,” Brown said,
echoing the frustrations of many Americans struggling with skyrocketing
inflation and economic hardship.
He pointed out that Harris, during her tenure, has done more for
other communities, notably securing $26 billion for Asian Americans,
while black Americans continue to be overlooked.
“[Kamala] could be sworn in by this lady, Supreme Court justice. They
don’t even know how to define what a woman is. So, a Black woman who
used to be an Asian woman gave $26 billion dollars to Asian Americans.”
“She can’t do nothing directly for Black people, but she did
something directly for her people, which is Asian Americans. $26 billion
dollars in 2023. Yeah, she can’t do nothing for Black Americans, but
Asians can get $26 billion—not million—$26 billion in the form of
government funding, government grants, and contracts. Meanwhile, mothers
and fathers can’t afford groceries.”
Brown didn’t hold back in his critique of the so-called
“go-along-get-along gang” of black celebrities who he believes are out
of touch with the realities facing everyday Americans.
He slammed them for pushing a narrative that prioritizes racial
solidarity over tangible policy achievements, accusing them of pandering
to political elites at the expense of their own community.
“When you talk about real situations, people are not concerned with
if somebody is Black or not. You’re not paying nobody’s bills with your
skin color. Kamala Harris is not going to help get your bills paid just
because she’s Black.”
“Inflation is at an all-time high. When you go and look at the
policy, and this is what’s sad about Ricky Smiley, D.L. Hughley, and
Steve Harvey, nobody calls these gatekeepers out.”
“Like I said, I came here to expose the go-along-get-along gang.

On Monday night United Auto Workers President Shawn Fain endorsed Kamala Harris at the DNC Convention in Chicago.
Fain called Kamala Harris a “fighter” for the working class and denounced Donald Trump as a “scab.”
During President Trump’s first term, he prioritized bringing manufacturing back to America. And that is exactly what he did.
According to a 2019 White House report:
President Trump followed through on his pledge to workers across the
country that he would bring back American manufacturing – with more
than 500,000 new manufacturing jobs created since the election.
Manufacturing job growth soared to a more than two decade high in
2018, bringing opportunity to communities that had been left behind.
Manufacturer optimism has skyrocketed under President Trump, reaching a new record high last year.
Thanks to President Trump’s pro-growth policies, manufacturers are
deciding to keep their factories running and jobs here in America.
Across the country, our Nation’s great aluminum and steel mills are
roaring back to life thanks to the tariffs put in place by the
President.
Joe Biden put pressure on manufacturers, destroyed the energy sector
in America with job-killing regulations, and pushed his expensive green
agenda.
Joe Biden’s EPA also forced car manufacturers to produce electric vehicles. This was a manufacturing disaster.

The EV market has nevertheless become a major disappointment. There is a troubling gap between expectations and reality.
Bloomberg New Energy Finance, for instance, had projected sales of
1.7 million plug-in vehicles in 2023, but only 1.46 million ultimately
sold. (BNEF’s figures include plug-in hybrids, but the large majority
are fully electric vehicles.) The trend line isn’t slanting upward as
sharply as many had predicted so the industry is lowering future
estimates.
Industry experts cite a number of reasons for this, including vehicle
price, lack of charging capacity and confusing tax credit rules.
High prices
Most electric vehicles currently on sale in America are on the more expensive side of the automotive market.
“Between $50,000 and $60,000 now we get Kia and we get Cadillac,”
said Tyson Jominy, an industry analyst with J.D. Power, referring to the
Kia EV9 and Cadillac Lyriq electric vehicles. “Those two don’t normally
face each other.”
Besides being too expensive for the average buyer, selection is
limited in terms of body style, said Corey Cantor, an industry analyst
with Bloomberg New Energy Finance. The vast majority are relatively
expensive SUVs, and there are few sedans or compact cars for customers
who want something different.
And then on Tuesday, the day after UAW President Shawn Fain announced
his endorsement of communist Kamala Harris, General Motors announced a
loss of 1,000 high-paying engineering jobs – 600 of those job losses
will be in Michigan.

General Motors Co. is cutting more than 1,000 software
engineers as the automaker moves to lean up its software and services
organization, said a person familiar with the matter.
More than 600 of the layoffs will be in Michigan, the person said.
The moves come two months after former Apple Inc. executives David
Richardson and Baris Cetinok were promoted to senior vice president
roles in the group.
“As we build GM’s future, we must simplify for speed and excellence,
make bold choices, and prioritize the investments that will have the
greatest impact,” GM said Monday in a statement confirming the cuts,
without specifying how many people were affected. GM declined to say how
much the reductions will reduce its overall software engineering
workforce.
According to a Gateway Pundit source in the know, the
engineers will be replaced by engineers from other developing countries.

A bomb threat was emailed to a local Fox affiliate on day two of the DNC convention.
Far-left protestors threatened to bomb the DNC convention.
Chicago police are investigating warnings pipe bombs were planted at four hotels near the DNC convention.
No one has been evacuated at this time.
“We placed bombs in your hotels. F*ck you and all the DNC bastards.
You will understand what they are going through,” the email from “kid
sniffers” said in reference to the Democrats’ support for a “genocidal
regime in Israel.”

Chicago police are investigating an alleged bomb threat at several hotels on the Near West Side.
Just before noon, officers and police K9s began searching Nobu Hotel located at 155 North Peoria Street.

The threat, which was emailed to the Fox 32 Newsroom, said pipe bombs
were placed in the Hotel Chicago West Loop and the Hyatt House Chicago
in West Loop and the University District.
The threat mentioned the Democratic National Convention that is
taking place this week on the city’s Near West Side. It also included
anti-semitic statements.

Tim Walz
Democrat VP nominee Tim Walz certainly has a habit of stretching the
truth to try to win sympathy and voters. He’s just like us y’all!
Durning another series of baseless attacks on Republicans, he pointed
to his family’s own challenges with infertility and warned that
conservatives want to restrict in vitro fertilization IVF), which is
something he ‘takes personally’ and has made a point of sharing in
interviews.
During one such interview, Walz stated, “Thank God for IVF, my wife and I have two beautiful children.”

The New York Times reports that the Tim Walz for Governor campaign
even sent out a fundraising mailer in April that said, “My wife and I
used I.V.F. to start a family.’’
Many people have taken his remarks alluding to IVF and thanking God
for the procedure to assume that that is what his family relied on to
conceive their children. Because, well, that’s exactly what he said.
But, as seems to often be the case with Walz, there is more to the story.

Several news outlets, including The New York Times, The Associated Press and The Minnesota Star Tribune,
have reported that the family relied on in vitro fertilization.
Fertility advocates concluded as much after hearing Mr. Walz talk.

But when asked if the Walzes wanted to share more details about their
effort to conceive, the Harris-Walz campaign recently clarified that
the couple did not rely on I.V.F. but rather another common fertility
procedure called intrauterine insemination, or I.U.I.
The treatments have a key distinction:
Unlike I.V.F., I.U.I. does not involve creating or discarding embryos.
And so anti-abortion leaders are not trying to restrict the treatment.
Watz has run with his half-truth in multiple interviews.
In early August, Walz took to X to blast Republican VP nominee JD Vance saying, “If it was up to JD Vance,I wouldn’t have a family because of IVF.
Democrats are investing in prenatal care. We’re the ones that are for
universal pre-K. We’re the ones that are providing school meals. I’m not
gonna back down one bit on this whole family values thing. We’re making
it more affordable to have children by having paid family and medical
leave. Where is JD Vance’s program?”
JD Vance called Walz out for his lies, “Today it came out that Tim
Walz had lied about having a family via IVF. Who lies about something
like that?”
Short answer, someone who also lies about their military rank and career.

In a statement to CNN, Minnesota First Lady Gwen Walz further clarified that she did not use in vitro fertilization to conceive.

Union Boss Vows to Make Unions ‘Darker’ Official X SEIU Account Whitewashes Quote (Video)

Service Employees International Union (SEIU) President April Verrett spoke at the Democratic National Convention on Monday.
In a shrill rant from the stage, Verrett said SEIU’s two million members are “all in” for Kamala.
Verrett then said the quiet part out loud when describing her vision
for the union, “We are going to build a younger, darker, hipper,
sneaker-wearing labor movement,” while the crowd roared their approval.
What does she mean by darker? Can you imagine if a white man suggested making any organization ‘lighter?’

Interestingly, when the official SEIU X account shared Verrett’s
speech, they conveniently took out her ‘darker reference’ in an attempt
to whitewash the racist tone.
Their quote? “Together, we’ll write new rules to make it easier to
join a union, build a younger, hipper, more inclusive movement for the
middle class, and end poverty-wage work once and for all.”
And they selectively edited her remarks, not once, but twice!
Why is SEIU not comfortable providing Verrett’s full quote?
Civil rights activist Melanie Campbell was one of the first speakers at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Monday.
Campbell,
who is the President & CEO of the National Coalition on Black Civic
Participation, has become a prominent figure around the Biden White
House, visiting the White House frequently during President Biden's term.
But
Campbell has been seen as a potential problem for Democratic messages
of unity after she made controversial statements about supporters of
former President Donald Trump during a recent Zoom call with fellow
activist Cora Masters Barry.
"We have to change our strategy. We
got to get our people. We have to get our – they got their people. They
got all the trailer parks all covered," Barry said during the Zoom. "All
them people up in West Virginia and the hills, they're covered. They
got them all the way there to Wall Street."
"[Trump] did that, and
we're sitting here talking about the White women. F--- the white women–
excuse me – forget the White women. They’re going to do what the White
men tell them to do," Barry continued, eliciting laughter and clapping
from Campbell.
"What they tell themselves," Campbell responded.
"They be smiling
in their faces, they want to stay in charge," Barry continued, with
Campbell reacting affirmatively in the background. "I don't care nothing
about them, we got to do what we got to do."
