Surveillance video shows Applebee's customers allegedly stab, attack waitress
MCDONOUGH, Ga.
-
Surveillance video shows what police say is several women attacking their server inside a Henry County Applebee’s restaurant.
Investigators released a flyer late Friday afternoon identifying the women as Lakisha Boyd, Keterah Boyd, Demetrius Boyd and Lashondra Boyd.
Now, police hope the community will help them make a quick arrest in the case.
McDonough residents who have seen the video told Channel 2’s Matt Johnson they are stunned at the attack that happened while families ate dinner at their local Applebee’s along Industrial Boulevard.
“I’m scared of what my children are being brought into,” one patron told Johnson.
Surveillance video from Tuesday night inside the restaurant shows the four women punching and robbing the waitress because she accidentally bumped her leg against one of theirs.
Police also said one of the women grabbed a steak knife and stabbed the 21-year-old waitress in the arm.
Other customers helped stop the assault, but not before the women stole the victim's tip money.
“You don’t hurt someone because they accidentally bumped into you. It's horrible,” another patron said.
The victim told Johnson that she's recovering and hopes to be able to return to college after the summer break. A restaurant representative said the victim went back to work the next day.
“That's a shame that she couldn’t go and do her job and get an education to take care of herself,” another restaurant patron said.
Surveillance pictures captured the four women casually walk outside the restaurant afterwards.
Police said they were able to identify the women thanks to numerous tips that came in.
Detectives hope to make an arrest as early as Friday and people in the community say it can't happen soon enough.
On top of stealing the woman's tip money, police said the four women also did not pay for their $65 dinner.
