A Christian man was arrested while exercising his first amendment right at a Pride event held in Reading, Pennsylvania, on Saturday.

Reading the Bible in public places is generally considered a protected form of free speech under the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. The First Amendment guarantees individuals the right to freedom of speech, which includes the right to express religious beliefs.

Damon Atkins, a devout Christian, attended the event to share his religious beliefs and to express his interpretation of scripture.

Reading’s first-ever “Pride March and Rally,” supported by Mayor Eddie Moran, drew dozens of people outside the City Hall.

Atkins walked up to a public sidewalk just across the street from City Hall, holding a slogan that says “Jesus said go and sin no more.”

Police Sergeant Bradley T. McClure approached Atkins to intervene and prevent him from reciting the Bible verse, emphasizing respect for the LGBTQ+ community’s pride rally. Atkins responded by asserting his right to freely express himself, citing the fact that they were in a public space.

Atkins continued and chose to read from 1 Corinthians 14:33, which states, “For God is not a God of disorder but of peace.” However, before he could finish reading the verse, McClure rushed toward Atkins and placed him under arrest.

It took less than sixty seconds for Atkins to be placed in handcuffs, according to The Lancaster Patriot.

As per a court document acquired by The Lancaster Patriot, Damon Atkins faced charges of “Disorderly Conduct Engage in Fighting.”

The criminal complaint entails “the intent to cause substantial public inconvenience, annoyance or alarm, or recklessly creating a risk thereof, he engages in fighting or threatening, or in violent or tumultuous behavior” and that Atkins “despite being warned by police just moments prior, yelled derogatory comments at an organization that was holding a permitted event.”

“Now in this country, ‘God’ is a derogatory term,” Atkins told The Lancaster Patriot. “That makes me sick to my stomach.”

Atkins is set to appear in court on June 16, and he is hoping to be represented by Alliance Defending Freedom.

Matthew Wear of Reading, who filmed the entire incident and reported it to The Lancaster Patriot, said that he had been preaching before Atkins’ arrival and was instructed to stop by the same police officer who later arrested Atkins.

“Today, as our family was driving out of Reading for a family adventure, we saw that there was a Pride rally at the City Hall building in Reading City,” Wear wrote on his Youtube.

“I saw two Christian protesters out there, and so I pulled us over and I came out to support and encourage them. I preached for 10 minutes or so until a tyrant cop laid hands on me and threatened to arrest me if I continued. 10 minutes later, another Christian protester came out. He stood his ground against the cop, and got arrested as shown in the clip. Most of the attendants, drag queens and children had come from out of town, either Lancaster, or as far away as New York. The locals in Reading were not “out in droves,” he added.

“The Gospel went out, but it got pretty rough pretty quickly. Didn’t have my GoPro or anything because I had no idea this was going on today. Just the Providence of God that we drove by it,” he concluded.

Bud Light to Donate $200,000 to ‘LGBTQ Business Owners of Color’

 https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2023/06/bud-light-donate-200000-lgbtq-business-owners-color/

Bud Light to Donate $200,000 to ‘LGBTQ Business Owners of Color’

Bud Light has announced that it will donate $200,000 to LGBTQ business owners of color amid a massive boycott of the brand.

Anheuser-Bush has lost a jaw-dropping $27 billion in market value since partnering with controversial transgender activist and influencer Dylan Mulvaney in March.

On May 30, Bud Light announced in a quiet press release that they would donate $200,000 to the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce’s Communities of Color Initiative.

“Bud Light was brewed to be an ‘Easy to Drink, Easy to Enjoy’ beer for everyone 21+ and that still holds true today,” said Anheuser-Busch in the press release. “We look forward to extending our work with the NGLCC to continue making a positive impact on the LGBTQ+ businesses that play a critical role in bringing people everywhere, together.”

The company stated that the “initiative is designed to support the growth and success of minority LGBTQ+-owned businesses through certification, scholarships and business development in an effort to create equal opportunities for the economic advancement of small businesses in the LGBTQ+ community. The brand will also be supporting NGLCC’s first-ever CoCi Biz Pitch program, where the winning minority LGBTQ+ business owner will receive $5,000 and have the chance to go on to compete at the 2023 NGLCC International Business & Leadership Conference LGBT Biz Pitch Competition for $50,000 in cash and prizes.”

“We’re honored to continue our partnership with Bud Light in support of LGBTQ+ businesses,” said the NGLCC. “We appreciate the brand’s ongoing efforts to bolster our Communities of Color Initiative that empowers and supports both minority LGBTQ+ business owners and entrepreneurs, as well as the vital roles they play in communities across the United States.”

Anheuser-Busch noted that the company has “a strong track record of industry leadership in supporting the LGBTQ+ community.”

“Over the past 20 years Anheuser-Busch has supported both local and national non-profit organizations that are committed to advocating for LGBTQ+ equality,” the press release added.

The sizeable donation came after LGBTQ organizations began to demand that the company “reaffirm” its support for transgender people after trying to distance itself from the Mulvaney fiasco.

Jay Brown, a senior vice president at the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, has sent a letter to Anheuser-Busch’s head of human resources calling the company “cowardly” for attempting to back away from the scandal.

“In this moment, it is absolutely critical for Anheuser-Busch to stand in solidarity with Dylan and the trans community,” reads the letter obtained by The Hill.

“However, when faced with anti-LGBTQ+ and transphobic criticism, Anheuser-Busch’s actions demonstrate a profound lack of fortitude in upholding its values of diversity, equity, and inclusion to employees, customers, shareholders and the LGBTQ+ community,” the April 26 letter continued. “This not only lends credence to hate-filled rhetoric, it exposes Anheuser-Busch to long-term business impacts with employees and customers increasingly looking for steadfast commitment to LGBTQ+ corporate citizenships.”

The Hill reports, “according to the HRC letter, the group is preparing to lower Anheuser-Busch’s long-standing 100 percent Corporate Equality Index score, a national benchmarking tool on corporate policies, practices and benefits relevant to LGBTQ employees.”

Mulvaney, an adult biological male, has become controversial over his “Days of Girlhood” series on TikTok and meeting with President Joe Biden on “Day 222 of being a girl” to advocate for allowing minors to transition.

The activist-influencer said then, “I’m ready to step up and show that trans people are not going anywhere and that trans kids deserve a fighting chance to be their true selves.”

In a society increasingly shaped by technology and security concerns, a concerning trend is emerging among younger generations in the United States.

While most Americans across all demographic groups oppose government surveillance in their homes, there is a higher acceptance of such measures among younger individuals willing to trade freedom and privacy for enhanced security and protection.

In a newly released national survey conducted by the CATO Institute, it has been revealed that almost a third of young Americans (Gen Z) favor the installation of government surveillance cameras in every household.

The survey included 2,000 participants and examined public attitudes toward the government’s potential role in reducing “domestic violence, abuse, and illegal activities.”

The results of the survey indicated that only 14 percent of Americans in total supported the idea of government surveillance cameras in homes. The majority, 75 percent, opposed the notion, with 68 percent expressing strong opposition. A small fraction of respondents, 10 percent, remained undecided on the matter.

The study results revealed those under 30 were most likely to approve government-installed monitoring cameras in private homes.

“However, Americans under the age of 30 stand out when it comes to George Orwell’s 1984‐style in-home government surveillance cameras. 3 in 10 (29 percent) Americans under 30 favor “the government installing surveillance cameras in every household” in order to “reduce domestic violence, abuse, and other illegal activity.” Support declines with age, dropping to 20 percent among 30–44-year-olds and dropping considerably to 6 percent among those over the age of 45,” according to the study.

The survey findings indicate that support for government surveillance in homes varied among different demographic groups. African Americans (33 percent) and Hispanic Americans (25 percent) displayed higher levels of support compared to White Americans (9 percent) and Asian Americans (11 percent).

In terms of political affiliation, Democrats (17 percent) were slightly more likely than Republicans (11 percent) to favor in-home surveillance. Democrats who identified as “very liberal” exhibited the lowest support at 9 percent, while “liberal” Democrats were more than twice as likely to favor the idea at 19 percent. Interestingly, there was no significant divide between men (15 percent) and women (13 percent) on this issue.

Texas police arrest 8 people for alleged involvement in smash-and-grab operation of over 50 ATMs

Plano, Texas, police investigation into smash-and-grab at 7-Eleven leads detectives to widespread crime spree

By Greg Wehner | Fox News

Texas police arrested eight individuals last week for allegedly burglarizing more than 50 automated teller machines (ATM) in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

The Plano Police Department said investigators and members of SWAT arrested eight suspects as they were stealing an ATM from a 7-Eleven on Fort Worth Drive in Denton, Texas at about 6 a.m. on June 1.

(Plano Police Department)

Prior to the arrests, detectives with the Plano Police Department received information about an ATM burglary that happened on 14th Street in Plano just before 6:30 a.m. on May 25.

During the burglary, five suspects backed a pickup truck into the front of the store, smashing out the window.

The suspects then wrapped a chain around the machine and pulled the ATM out of the convenience store, while the clerk stood behind the counter.

Police said the suspects got away with an unknown amount of cash, though the damage to the building was expected to cost the business thousands of dollars to repair.

The suspects fled the scene in a pickup truck that was discovered to have been stolen out of Garland, Texas, and later found abandoned at a nearby apartment development.

Investigators developed several leads from the burglary on May 25, including the identification of several suspected vehicles and determining the methods used to steal the ATMs.

Detectives also learned of numerous smash and grab incidents across the DFW Metroplex, resulting in a multi-jurisdictional investigation involving police from Plano, Coppell, Dallas, Euless, Frisco, Garland and Grapevine.

The Department of Public Safety and 7-Eleven Zone Asset Protection manager also assisted in the investigation, which resulted in the arrests of Anthony Dewayne Turner, 29, of Dallas; Cortaveya Jean Jackson, 25, of Mesquite; Danaijay Jacoby Derrett, 24, of Dallas; Dominique Marquis Childress, 27, of Dallas; Joseph George Milton Turner, 29 - Dallas; Leroy Alvin Walls, 26, of Dallas; Louis Edward Coleman, 37, of DeSoto; and Marlon Briscoe, 24, of Dallas.

All eight individuals have been charged with second-degree theft of an automated teller machine and are being held in the Denton County Jail.

Fact Check

A former California judge named Keith M. Alber truly wrote a letter that appeared in a newspaper under the title "Opinion From a Former Judge" and spread across Facebook since at least December 2021. We confirmed the letter's authenticity by speaking with Alber over the phone.

One of the more popular postings of the article came from a Facebook account named Chad Jones. As of mid-May 2022, that post had been shared more than 11,000 times:

 The letter read as follows:

Opinion From a Former Judge

I am a student of law whose age is 85. My first year of college was 68 years ago. One class I took was political science. A half-page of my textbook essentially outlined a few steps to overturn a democracy.

1) Divide the nation philosophically.2) Foment racial strife.3) Cause distrust of police authority.4) Swarm the nation's borders indiscriminately and unconstitutionally.5) Engender the military strength to weaken it.6) Overburden citizens with more unfair taxation.7) Encourage civil rioting and discourage accountability for all crime.8) Control all balloting.9) Control all media.

What was printed in 1954 as a possible diabolic nightmare has become an emerging reality. I hope that Americans will unite enough to pen a good finish - Go dwelling.

The Origins of the Newspaper Article

Advertisement:

Initially, when looking for the origins of Alber's "Opinion From a Former Judge," we came up empty. As far as we could tell, a syndicated columnist named Ronald Hart once reprinted the letter in December 2021, but the trail seemed to end there.

However, after some additional research, we made contact with Alber over the phone.

Alber said he wrote the letter in October 2021 and sent it to The Epoch Times newspaper. (The letter in the photo that circulated on social media was believed to have come from that print publication.) The Epoch Times has a history of promoting far-right political rhetoric and conspiracy theories.

He told us he couldn't remember the name of the college textbook he referenced, though he recalled having the book in 1954 when he attended "Napa College," or what is now called Napa Valley College.

Interviewing Alber

We asked Alber if he had anything to add regarding his letter, "Opinion From a Former Judge." He shared the following:

At the time I read [the steps to overturn a democracy] back in 1954, I thought, 'That could never happen. That would be a nightmare.' And it would be disastrous for this country if that ever did happen. Years later, when it was happening, the attempt to achieve those goals was a reality. I became very alarmed. I have pretty much dedicated my life to the justice system and laws. I was a bench officer for 25 years in the Superior Court, and I've been interviewed by many news people. I don't know, I just feel [the current state of the country is] a very sad comment on the public being so dumb.

On the subject of politics, Alber told us, "I don't have any comment about politics. It's not my specialty. And, so I don't say anything about it."

"I'm like Voltaire," he added. "I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend your right to say it."

In sum, yes, Alber wrote the virally shared article that was titled, "Opinion from a Former Judge," and listed nine steps on how to overturn a democracy. This story will be updated if we receive any additional information about the textbook to which he referred in his letter.

Jamie Foxx Allegedly Paralyzed and Blinded Due to ‘Blood Clot in His Brain’ Following COVID-19 Shot, Veteran Hollywood Journalist Claims (VIDEO)

Report: Jamie Foxx Allegedly Paralyzed and Blinded Due to ‘Blood Clot in His Brain’ Following COVID-19 Shot, Veteran Hollywood Journalist Claims (VIDEO)

Hollywood actor and singer Jamie Foxx has been at the center of recent speculation regarding his health after reports emerged claiming he suffered from paralysis and blindness due to blood clots allegedly caused by the experimental COVID vaccine.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, Jamie Foxx was hospitalized for a serious condition back in April during a shooting with Cameron Diaz.

Since his hospitalization, his family members have not released any details on what caused his medical emergency.

Many have speculated Foxx suffered a stroke due to the fact after he was released from the hospital the famed actor was receiving rehab at a facility in Chicago that specializes in stroke recovery.

Mike Tyson recently confirmed these speculations and in a podcast interview with Patrick Bet-David, Tyson stated Foxx “isn’t feeling well.”

The former heavyweight champion of the world continued “They said he (Foxx) had a stroke.”

“I have no idea what happened to him,” Tyson added.

According to Hollywood journalist A.J. Benza, who obtained details from a source close to Foxx, the actor is allegedly suffering from partial paralysis, blindness, and a range of other complications after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

“Jamie had a blood clot in his brain after he got the shot. He did not want the shot, but the movie he was on, he was pressured to get it,” said Benza during an interview with Dr. Drew.

Fox3 Now reported:

Journalist A.J. Benza says he spoke to someone in the room with Jamie Foxx who said Foxx has a blood clot in the brain after getting vaccinated. According to the source Foxx did not want the vaccine but the movie studio forced him to get it if he wanted to stay in the film. No word on the accuracy of this claim yet.

During an episode of “Ask Dr. Drew,” the podcaster, who previously worked as a columnist for the New York Daily News and hosted the E! series Mysteries and Scandals, disclosed that Jamie Foxx had experienced a blood clot in his brain subsequent to receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

The podcaster further revealed that Foxx had reservations about getting the vaccine but felt compelled to do so due to pressure from the film production he was involved with at the time.

Benza asserted that the blood clot in Foxx’s brain resulted in partial paralysis and blindness, claiming that his source, someone with direct knowledge of Foxx’s hospitalization, provided this information.

Benza went on to speculate whether this medical emergency was the underlying cause of Foxx’s recent outburst on set and the subsequent firing of several individuals, suggesting that Foxx may have reached a breaking point due to vaccine mandates.
