CDC estimates* that, from October 1, 2023 through June 1, 2024, there have been:

35 – 64 million
flu illnesses

16 – 30 million

 flu medical visits

 

 390,000 – 810,000

 flu hospitalizations

24,000 – 71,000

 flu deaths

During the 2022-2023 influenza season, CDC estimates that influenza was associated with 31 million illnesses, 14 million medical visits, 360,000 hospitalizations, and 21,000 deaths. The influenza burden was similar to the burden observed and the assessed severity during the 2013-2014 season.Nov 22, 2023
