U.S. Man Beats Infant to Death After Learning He`s Not the Father, Police Say
WREG - Memphis 10 hours ago
A Memphis man was arrested this week and faces deportation after police
say he beat a four-month-old to death after learning the child was not
his biological son.
Chuck Norris slammed for becoming the face of Glock:
( little cry babies)
My guns have NEVER unlocked themselves, unlocked the safe, loaded themselves, opened the door, unlocked the car, drove the car...and went out and hurt anyone. Don't be STUPID... the gun is not the danger, its the person holding it. STOP making a fool out of yourself.
(This young man just got a second job to make his future better. So many lazy men don't even have ONE job. This young man is the REAL definition of a MAN. The others are little boys)
Officer drives man to job interview instead of writing traffic tickets
Ka'Shawn Baldwin was trying to get to a job interview
when he was stopped by Ofc. Roger
CAHOKIA,
Ill. (WTHR) - An Illinois man is singing the praises of a police
officer who gave him a lift when he could have given him a ticket.
Cahokia
High School Resource Officer Roger Gemoules was patrolling the streets
while his school was on spring break Wednesday. That's when he pulled
over 22-year-old Ka'Shawn Baldwin for expired license plates, then found
Baldwin also had an expired license.
But he told the officer he
was headed to a job interview and had no other way to get there than to
drive his friend's car with expired plates.
So instead of writing a
ticket, Gemoules drove Baldwin to the intervew at a FedEx facility,
where he was hired as a package handler. The work is a second job for
Baldwin, who already holds a job at McDonalds, though his bus trip to
work takes about 90 minutes.
"He was polite when I pulled him
over, and seemed like a good young man and I want to give him a chance.
If I gave him bunch of tickets and towed his car in, it would be tough
for him to recover from," Gemoules said.
Baldwin told KSDK-TV the second job will allow him to make money to get his license back, buy a car and, hopefully, a new home.
“I
would like to thank Officer Gemoules for showing compassion and being a
great example of how community oriented policing actually works,”
Jackson wrote.
The city has contacted the state's attorney's
office to see if they can get rid of Baldwin's tickets and restore his
license. The assistant to Cahokia's mayor posted Gemoules' photo on Facebook, praising him for his actions.
Police are asking for the public's help to locate a suspect in a motorized shopping cart who allegedly stole a Walmart shopper's wallet.
The victim and his girlfriend were inside the Walmart on State Road
590 in Clearwater, Florida, on April 1 when the victim dropped his
wallet on the floor inside the store, police said.
Before
the man could retrieve his wallet, the suspect approached on a
motorized cart and picked up the wallet and left the store on foot,
Clearwater police said in a statement.
The victim and his girlfriend followed and soon confronted the suspect.
The suspect, after being called out for allegedly stealing, threw the wallet at the victim and his girlfriend, police said.

American flag design on Laguna Beach police cars causes both 'panic' and pride

Police Department’s newest squad cars is dividing the community. (Photo:

The city council of Laguna Beach, Calif. is reconsidering the design recently implemented on its new police vehicles — a prominent American flag graphic — after some community members expressed shock and concern at the “aggressive” logo.
In early March, 11 Laguna Beach Police Department squad cars were
rolled out. The word “police” features prominently across the side of
each vehicle, painted in an Old Glory-inspired red, white and blue
design. And while some in the community take pride in the patriotic
look, others find it problematic. Want daily pop culture news delivered to your inbox? Sign up here for Yahoo’s newsletter.
One resident, designer Chris Prelitz, told the Times Community News that
when he and his wife first noticed the new design while dining out, it
was because he saw parents and children outside “scattering” around a
group of patrol cars.
“There was like a little panic going on, and I was
like, ‘What’s happening?'” he told the publication. “When one of [the
cars is] there, it works. But all of a sudden, I saw, wow, when there
are three, maybe four of them together, folks thought it was a SWAT
team, federal agents. So it had a very striking, strong impact, so much
so that I think there might be some unintended consequences.”
At a March 19th city council meeting, several Laguna beach
residents spoke up about their resistance to the new design. Carrie
Woodburn, a local artist, reportedly said it was “shocking to see the
boldness of the design,” which said “felt very aggressive.”
Woodburn later clarified her opinion on Facebook, writing, “for
the record, I have no objection to the black-and-white cars.” She
added, “I have no issue with our American flag. My personal observation
was that it felt aggressive and may not best represent our community.”
Even city council spokesperson Peter Blake told Yahoo Lifestyle
that Woodburn “came out and said something that would make perfect
sense otherwise,” as city council often does defer to input from artists
in the community. “She didn’t realize that she would be stepping on a
political landmine.”
The impetus for that landmine, according to Blake, was “a vocal
minority of political activists,” whom he calls “extremists” that
initially fought the new black-and-white design for police vehicles.
When they lost that battle, Blake said, they went after the stars and
stripes. “They even went to the American Legion to determine if it was
disrespectful for the flag to be chopped up [within the letters],” Blake
said.
So the city council appointed Laguna Beach police chief Laura
Farinella to green light the final logo. “We trust the police chief with
the safety of the community,” Blake said. “We can trust her with the
decision of what police cars will look like.”
Blake told Yahoo Lifestyle that an overwhelming majority of community members are on board with the American flag logo. Attorney Jennifer
Welsh Zeiter called the decorated Ford Explorers “exceptional” at the
city council meeting, and said that those who vocally oppose the design
are “so filled with hatred toward this … office of the president of the United States
and the current occupant of that office that they cannot see through
their current biases to realize that a police vehicle with the American
flag is the ultimate American expression.”
Laguna Beach Police Cpl. Ryan Hotchkiss, president of the
Laguna Beach Police Employees Association, spoke at the meeting to
say that he has only heard positive feedback about the new vehicle he
drives. “Every time I came to a stop sign, every time I came to a red
light, somebody is telling me the car looks great,” Hotchkiss said.
“Every one of our members that drives the car loves it, and we look
forward to keeping them the way they are.”
Mayor Steve Dicterow seemed to defend the new design, implying
that the logo and the new black-and-white paint job are intentionally
bold.
“This is about safety,” Dicterow said. “I want anybody to see it, period.”
Community members will discuss the controversial design and try to
come to a resolution at a new city council meeting scheduled for
Tuesday. They’re doing so “out of an abundance of caution to
address questions that have been raised about the process,” said city
manager John Pietig, according to the Times Community News.
On social media, community members who support the design are
encouraging others to attend the meeting in order to defend the flag.
Some are simply voicing their support.
And some are publicly condemning the design.
Because of California’s Brown Act, which guarantees the
public’s right to attend and participate in legislative meetings, the
city council must listen to comments — both dissenting and otherwise —
from the community before making a final decision on whether to keep or
scrap the patriotic police car design.
Blake has no idea what the outcome of Tuesday’s meeting will be, but told Yahoo Lifestyle he thinks it will be “an absolute absurdity if we didn’t allow the flag to stand.” Read more from Yahoo Lifestyle:
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (AP) — A 5-year-old boy who was thrown from a
third-floor balcony at the Mall of America near Minneapolis remains
hospitalized with serious injuries, authorities said Saturday.
Bloomington police Chief Jeffrey Potts said during a news conference
that the boy fell nearly 40 feet after a man who apparently didn't know
the boy or his family threw him off the balcony Friday.
Authorities
haven't released the boy's name and say his family has requested
privacy.
Potts said he couldn't give an update on the boy's status, except to
say that he's being cared for at the hospital and that his parents are
with him. Hospital officials haven't responded to requests for a status
update.
Emmanuel Deshawn Aranda, 24, of Minneapolis, was arrested at the
mall's transit station after the attack and is jailed on a suspicion of
attempted homicide charge. Potts credited bystanders and mall security
for his quick capture.
"This is a horrific situation," Potts said.
Potts said investigators don't believe Aranda knew the boy's family and do not have a motive.
A witness, Brian Johnson, told WCCO-TV on Friday that he heard a
woman scream that her child had been thrown from the balcony. He said
she was screaming, "Everybody pray, everybody pray. Oh my God, my baby,
someone threw him over the edge."
Court records show that Aranda has a history of convictions for
misdemeanor offense. He was charged in two previous incidents at the
mall in 2015. Potts said some of those cases were handled through mental
health court, but he didn't elaborate. At one point, Aranda had a
trespass notice banning him from the mall, but it was no longer in
effect, Potts said.
Jail records don't list an attorney for Aranda. Potts said he expects
to submit the case to Hennepin County prosecutors for charges by noon
on Monday.
The 4.2-million-square-foot Mall of America is in Bloomington, about
10 miles south of Minneapolis. It opened in 1992, has more than 520
stores and is visited by 40 million visitors annually, according to its
website.
Police are searching for a mom
who allegedly grabbed an 81-year-old woman by the hair and dragged her
to the ground following a verbal altercation outside a movie theater on
Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
The elderly woman, who prefers to go unnamed, told NBC New York that she was waiting outside the AMC 84th Street 6 theater to buy a ticket for the movie Dumbo
when a mom and her two children seemed to cut the line. Though the
woman didn’t know whether or not the rude move was intentional, she did
want to speak up about it.

“I
went like this,” the woman said as she motioned with one finger to
demonstrate how she touched one of the children. “Just the gentlest
touch. I just went like that to her daughter.” The woman says that’s all
it took for the mom to become belligerent.
“Well, she just opened up her mouth,” the woman said. “She became so violent. I was just, like, shocked.”
She
said she tried to apologize to the mom, but that only seemed to provoke
her further. Eventually, the younger woman resorted to physical
violence.
The
woman said she felt someone come behind her and grab her by the hair.
“I just felt this dragging of my hair, and I felt myself go down and
crash,” the woman told NBC New York. She allegedly fell backwards,
hitting her head. She was soon taken to the hospital, where she was treated for dizziness, pain and swelling, according to a police report sent to Yahoo Lifestyle.
“They
X-rayed the thing and they said, thank goodness, there was no
bleeding,” the woman said. Doctors told her she was very lucky she
didn’t sustain a concussion.
The
mom and her children fled the theater, but police were able to capture
her on surveillance video wearing a red shirt, black leggings and red
sneakers, with a fanny pack around her waist.
“The individual is described as a female, Hispanic, long dark hair, mid 30′,” according to the police report.
The NYPD encourages anyone with information on the assault to contact its Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). Alternatively, you can visit the Crime Stoppers website or text tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577. The NYPD vows to keep all calls and tips confidential.
A California accountant’s attempt to shame an elderly Trump supporter backfired.
On Monday, Palo Alto local Rebecca Parker Mankey told her followers on Facebook that she reamed out a 74-year-old man, reportedly named Victor F., at Starbucks for wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat.
“Anybody in Palo Alto knows this freak,”
Mankey wrote alongside
photos of the man. “He was sitting in Starbucks. I think he lives in
Palo Alto. He will never forget me and will think seriously about
wearing that hat in my town ever again. If you see him in this hat,
please confront him. You do not want to be the person who didn’t speak
up as we slipped into fascism.”
She continued, “I yelled at him. Called the entire Starbucks to order
and yelled at him more about how it is not ok to hate brown people. He
threatened to call the cops. I left after yelling at him some more.”
After her lunch break, Mankey said she returned to Starbucks. “I
went back in and yelled that I had changed my mind and wanted him to
call the police because I wanted to know his name, where he lived, his
wife’s name, and where his kids went to school,” she wrote.
Mankey said she followed Victor outside yelling to “Get the f*** out of my town and never come back.”
“It is the duty of every white person in America to stand up to this
every time they see it,” wrote Mankey. “Don’t be the person who does
nothing to protect our brothers and sisters from this hatred. It is not
OK.”
According to
KPIX CBS,
Mankey pledged to “publicly shame” the man and “try to get him fired,”
writing, “I am going to go to his house and march up and down carrying a
sign that says he hates black people. I am going to organize protests
where he works to make him feel as unsafe as he made every brown person
he met today.”

A woman named Amy of the Twitter account “Right Hook USA” tweeted
Tuesday, “Parker Mankey is doxxing an old man on Facebook because he
wore a MAGA hat in public.” Amy called Mankey’s husband’s boss “to show
them the violence their employees’ wife is promoting.”
Amy tells Yahoo Lifestyle, “I was extremely disturbed when I
learned that an elderly man was being humiliated and harassed in public
by a vicious bully. I was even more saddened to learn that this gentle
old Jewish man has been a pillar in the Palo Alto community for over
forty years. I hope and pray that this incident leads to greater
tolerance and respect among all Americans, instead of greater hatred and
rage.”
Worried someone would hurt the elderly man, Amy called the Palo Alto Police Department. A police spokesperson tells Yahoo Lifestyle there is no incident report on file because a victim has not come forward.

On Wednesday, Victor told
KPIX CBS,
“This crazy woman came over and started raving at me. She turned
to the rest of Starbucks and said, ‘Hey everybody, here’s this racist
over here. He hates brown people, he’s crazy, he’s a Nazi,’ and so
forth.” Victor wears a yarmulke under his
MAGA hat.
Mankey and her husband closed down their Facebook pages.
On Tuesday, Gryphon Stringed Instruments, where Mankey worked as an accountant, wrote, “We
would like to make it clear that we do not condone harassment or hate
speech of any kind. We are currently addressing the matter internally.
Thank you for your concern.”
Later, the store added, “The employee in
question has been terminated. Gryphon does not believe anyone should be
harassed or subject to hate speech no matter their beliefs.
Music has
historically been something that has brought people of diverse socio-political backgrounds together.”
On Tuesday, an organization called Bayshore Progressive Democrats, reportedly co-chaired by Mankey, said she and her family were getting death threats. “Parker
felt strongly that she wanted to use her privilege as a white woman to
stand up for those who are living in fear because of the hateful
atmosphere fostered by Trump,” read a website statement. “Unfortunately,
the manner in which she chose to stand up against a slogan that stands
for racism led to an even stronger hateful response that has endangered
her and her family.”
Mankey resigned from the organization the next day. “Earlier
today, the officers of the Bayshore Progressive Democrats (BPD)
received and accepted Parker Mankey’s resignation as co-chair,
officer, and member of our organization,” according to another
statement.
“From the standpoint of BPD, this matter is now closed. Bayshore
Progressive Democrats seeks a world that works for everyone, where all
humans have a chance to realize their full potential and to live lives
of dignity. Harassment and abuse are inconsistent with these values, and
we reject the use of such tactics in civil society.”
A Starbucks representative tells Yahoo Lifestyle
that employees at the California Avenue location weren’t aware of the
incident until both Mankey and Victor left.

SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) — A mayoral candidate in Georgia is apologizing
for attending an event that barred reporters unless they were
African-American.
Savannah city councilman Van Johnson told reporters Friday: "I know
in this case I did offend. And today I apologize for my actions."
Johnson is among three black candidates who have announced campaigns
this fall to challenge Savannah Mayor Eddie DeLoach, who is white.
A meeting at a church Wednesday sought to unite Savannah's black
community behind a single candidate. Signs at the door said "Black Press
Only!" and white reporters were denied entry.
Johnson spoke during the event and later told reporters prohibited from attending: "It's not my meeting."
Johnson said Friday if the meeting "excluded other folks ... I would be one of the first ones to be outraged."

A Georgia politician who joined an election meeting for “black only” press said he failed to act inclusively.

Signs that read “no audio or video recording” and “black press only” hung on the church doors. One non-black reporter from Savannah television station WTOC was reportedly not allowed inside.
Johnson has since apologized for taking part.
On Thursday, Johnson told WTOC, “I was invited as a 2019
Savannah mayoral candidate to give a candidacy statement to a gathering
of African-American community leaders. I accepted this invitation as an
opportunity to share my vision for a progressive Savannah, as I have
with business, civic, labor, neighborhood, veteran, political,
Latino/Hispanic and LGBTQ groups in private and public settings. I did
not coordinate or schedule this event and did not participate in any of
the discussions beyond giving my statement….”
“While this decision of this group is unfortunate,” he
continued “I work toward the day when we trust each other enough to be
inclusive in all of our gatherings.”
He also addressed the situation at a local meeting on Friday.
“While I had a responsibility to the people inside, I also had a
responsibility to the people outside,” he said. “I had this unique
opportunity to be that bridge, to build communication and to
encourage understanding, but on this singular occasion, I did not
perform as I always have. And today, I apologize for my actions in this
instance.
“I’m human,” he added later. “I make mistakes.”
The event was reportedly organized by Rev. Clarence Teddy Williams, who owns the consulting company The Trigon Group. A Trigon Group spokesperson did not return Yahoo Lifestyle’s interview request, and Williams is reportedly not commenting on the meeting.
According to the Associated Press, Regina Thomas, a former Georgia senator who is running for mayor, was not at the meeting because it wasn’t inclusive and she had other plans. Thomas was unreachable by Yahoo Lifestyle.
“This is not my idea,” Chatham County commissioner Chester
Ellis, who did attend the controversial meeting, said before entering
the church, according to the Savannah Morning News.
Yahoo Lifestyle contacted meeting members, including former Mayor Edna Jackson, Alderman Estella Shabazz, Commissioner Ellis and candidates Johnson and Louis Wilson. None returned requests for comment.
You are an adult and your fingers are proving how stupid you sound.
Yes..... YOU !
They make fun of your photos, and all of your "Me Me" moments. NO ONE thinks that you're all that....trust me. LOL
Real adults don't need to be hooked up to a phone, they have REAL people to talk to. They dine with those adults, go the theater, have lunch with them, have BBQ's with them, meet them for drinks etc etc etc.
Peele has already cemented his place as one of the
greatest and most prolific filmmakers in the business, and it sounds
like he's going to keep using his growing fame to push Hollywood in a
better direction—by refusing to make movies starring yet another white
dude.
"I
feel fortunate to be in this position where I can say to Universal, 'I
want to make a $20 million horror movie with a black family.' And they
say yes," Peele said during a Q&A in Los Angeles on Monday,
according to the Hollywood Reporter.
"I don’t see myself casting a white dude as the lead in my movie. Not that I don’t like white dudes—but I've seen that movie."
"It
really is one of the best, greatest pieces of this story, is feeling
like we are in this time," Peele went on, as the audience reportedly
cheered. "A renaissance has happened and proved the myths about
representation in the industry are false."
During the conversation, Peele also spoke about his long path to success, starting with a stint at MadTV and a missed opportunity to join the SNL
cast, which apparently led to a stretch of time he spent getting blazed
in his room and scheming "like a comic book supervillain." Eventually,
those schemes turned into a shit-ton of screenplays—one of which wound
up becoming Get Out.
"Every two weeks I'd go, 'What the
fuck am I doing? I'm writing a movie where a black man is victimized and
all the white people are evil and I'm trying to get the audience to
have fun,'" Peele said of Get Out. "But if you could make that fun… that's what brought me back."
Peele
didn't tease any new projects during the chat, but whatever else he's
got cooking, it's safe to say it won't put another Extremely Successful
White Male in the spotlight. Apologies to everyone dreaming of an Us
spinoff starring Tim Heidecker or whatever. In any case, let's hope
Peele pens Lupita Nyong'o another star vehicle sometime soon—her turn as
Adelaide and Red in Us better earn her both Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress at the Oscars, for the freaky dancing alone.
